Do I need MetaGrid Pro to use this?
Yes. MetaGrid Pro runs the grids and makes advanced editing available, and also does a lot more.
Will it work with versions of Cubase/Nuendo older than 15.0.30?
Yes — it requires a version that uses MIDI Remotes, so theoretically that includes 13.x and 14.x. But 15.0.30 supports something special — when you move tracks outside of a folder track that provided routing, the tracks retain the routing. So optimizing your template for GridVista takes a single Project Logical Preset to set it up. With earlier versions it takes a little more doing.
Will it work with smaller iPads than the 12.9"?
If you already use MetaGrid Pro with one, you know. The main buttons are 3 wide by 2 tall, and the function buttons at the top are 2 by 2. If you use buttons of that size, it may work for you; I designed it for the 12.9” model.
Can I use my own system of abbreviating libraries?
Yes. Any way you want to use it is fine. But I have included a "comprehensive" list of more than 500 libraries with abbreviations. If you want to use your own, you can enter them in as needed or you can import them from a list and GridVista will use them to automatically sort your tracks.
Can I use this for anything beyond orchestra libraries?
Yes. You can use it to organize any kind of tracks you have. You can use it for recording chains, drum mix tracks, any audio tracks, effects channels, and any library you use. Have your favorite vocal chain disabled in your project and recall and enable it when you need it.
What is Lio?
Articulign Lio is a network and MIDI utility that facilitates a lot of behind-the-scenes functionality for GridVista, including track renaming and delivering grids to MetaGrid Pro.
