The Articulign Approach

Composing music with virtual instruments is great, but the process has some common issues that can break our flow.

Every virtual instrument responds differently. A staccato violin doesn't speak at the same speed as a legato one. A legato transition isn't the same length as an attack. And whatever articulation you want, it needs to be right under your fingertips, assignable with a single tap; not scrolled for in a menu. The instrument you want should be right in front of you; not buried in a massive template.

The Articulign logic in TimeCapsule knows the library, recognizes the articulations and knows if they are legato or not, if they are in the middle of a phrase or not — and adjusts their timing automatically — so your music sounds tight, human, and intentional. The Control Series control surface for MetaGrid Pro shows you every articulation in the library and assigns them to notes in the editor with a tap of your finger. And GridVista helps you organize your template and create a Visibility Grid for Cubase, that shows only the tracks you want when you want them.

These tools work together to give you complete control over timing, articulation switching, and template management — all from a single, unified ecosystem.

Initially, TimeCapsule comes as a dedicated library-specific version in a bundle with the first releases of Control Series: Cinematic Studio Strings Edition and Cinematic Studio Brass Edition. TimeCapsule will also be available in a Universal version that allows you to import expression maps and configure for any sample library. Kontakt 8 is supported: future implementations for other sample players are forthcoming.
